CON’S Taglamig Fair Draws Biggest Crowd

Mar 10, 2023

“Ang Huling Kilig ng Taglamig” this year’s theme of the annual College of Nursing (CON) Taglamig Fair from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on March 5, at the Driving Area, captivated the biggest crowd estimate of 2,300 based on ticket sales excluding performers, complimentary ticket holders, staff, vendors, and organizers since the first Taglamig Fair in 2008.  Following are the details of the event organized by Elioenai 2004 headed by Batch President Andre Alcantara, Sponsors Mr. Mark Samson, Mr. Raul San Diego and Dr. Beryl Mergal as reported by Chairperson Dr. Angel Grace F. Bingcang. The planning of the Taglamig Fair started on the second week of January 2023. It was initially planned to be a smaller event, such as an acoustic night or something similar. This was due to the lack of personnel to organize the event. Make-up duties and busy schedules contributed to the initial plan to hold a smaller event, but with the determination and persistence of the batch Elioenai officers, the planning of the Taglamig Fair continued.”

She further disclosed, “Initial foresight estimated around 1,000 – 1,500 based on past Taglamig Fairs, but we were surprised to generate 2,000 ticket sales on our last week before the event. With only 97 personnel from the batch, handling the Fair and the people was absolutely challenging, but the efforts and willingness of each individual contributed to the overwhelming success of the event. There were a lot of challenges, put downs, and times when we felt hopeless, but in times like those, we kept praying and kept our faith strong that God will show us His will.” Her itemized report follows.Date of Approval: SSO – February 6, 2023, ADCOM- February 14, 2023; Budget: 125,000 pesos; Objectives: Fundraising for AUP CON the level 3 socio-spiritual retreat, Promote camaraderie among general AUP studentry, Promote the university among guests and visitors; Activities: Game boothsBalloon and Dart, Whisper Challenge, HW Pong, Galac-Toss (Ring toss), Broom Broom Skkrt Skkrt, Can Knock Down, Drop Ball, Flip It Till You Make It, Ping Tac-Toe, Separation Anxiety, Glass Road Trucker, Nimble Thimble, Yank Me, Office Tennis, Heart Strings (Strings Lottery Booth); InflatablesGiant Soccer, Obstacles course, Basketball Shooting, Giant Billiards, Gladiator Joust; PerformersSingers: 34, Islander Cultural Dance, Torotot Boys; AttractionsPhoto booth, Face paint booth, Polaroid Event photographer, Aesthetic pixie lights, Food booths, Game booths, Giant parachute tent, Fireworks; Raffle draws8- 500 peso worth of dorm supplies.
