Tradigital Fine Arts Student Reaches the Finals at UST Annual Inter-School On-the-Spot Painting Competition 2025
Kian Sison, a 4th year student from AUP Tradigital Fine Arts reached the finals in the UST Annual Inter-School On-the-Spot Painting Competition on February 21, 2025. The event, with the theme, “Art Uncompromised by AI” highlighted the authenticity and boundless creativity of human expression, emphasizing the irreplaceable role of artists in an era increasingly influenced by technology.
Sison’s work entitled “This Comfort” is a piece about the degradation of the human brain due to the rise of Artificial Intelligence in the 21st century. “In recent times, we’ve become too comfortable and dependent, relying our entire humanity on AI, forgetting how it affects our environment. It would be hypocritical of me to say that I am not part of the problem, because I am. Unfortunately, we can’t get rid of it anytime soon, so we must learn the art of accepting responsibility for our actions,” Sison described the meaning behind his art.
The event gathered around 200 art students from various schools and universities in Luzon for a day to paint. Among the participants were 13 Tradigital Fine Arts showcased their art skills demonstrating how artists continue to innovate while staying true to the essence of human creativity.
