About the Role:
The CTE English/CurrDev Faculty is responsible for teaching English major courses and professional education subjects, mentoring English major students, integrating faith and values in instruction, teaching graduate-level Curriculum Development courses, and supporting the college’s instructional, research, and extension programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Responsibilities
- Teach English major subjects (e.g., Linguistics, Literature, Structure of English, Language Teaching).
- Teach professional education courses as assigned.
- Teach graduate school courses related to Curriculum Studies / Curriculum Development.
- Integrate faith, values, and character formation in all lessons, assessments, and learning activities.
- Prepare syllabi aligned with institutional standards, CHED requirements, and outcomes-based education (OBE) frameworks.
- Utilize varied, innovative, and technology-enhanced teaching strategies.
- Assess student performance using valid, reliable, and outcome-based assessment tool
Student Mentoring and Advising
- Mentor and provide academic guidance to English major students.
- Serve as an adviser or panel member for undergraduate research.
- Provide consultation hours for student concerns and academic assistance.
Research and Professional Development
- Engage in scholarly research, publication, and conference participation.
- Participate in research capability-building programs of the college/university.
- Stay updated with current trends in pedagogy, English language research, curriculum development, and teacher education.
Extension and Service
- Assist in College of Teacher Education activities, programs, and accreditation preparation.
- Participate in the Foster Parenting Program for CTE students.
- Serve as sponsor or adviser for CTE-initiated clubs or organizations.
- Support community extension activities, outreach programs, and university events.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, and class documentation.
- Submit reports, grades, and requirements within prescribed deadlines.
- Perform duties and responsibilities as stipulated in the Manual of Academic Policies and other institutional guidelines.
- Assist in college committees, special projects, and institutional initiatives as assigned.

- Expertise in English language, linguistics, literature, and language education.
- Competence in teaching professional education courses and graduate-level curriculum-related subjects.
- Strong mentoring and advising skills for undergraduate research.
- Ability to integrate faith, values, and ethical principles in instruction.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Proficiency in the use of learning management systems (LMS) and digital instructional technologies.
- Research competence (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and engage in college initiatives.

Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English (BSEd English) – Required
- Master of Arts in Education major in English (MAEd English) – Required
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Curriculum Development – Required, or currently pursuing/undergoing doctoral studies in Curriculum Development or Curriculum Studies
Experience:
- Must have at least five (5) years of teaching experience in basic education and/or higher education.
Professional Eligibility:
- LET Passer (Licensed Professional Teacher in the Philippines).
- Preferably with PRC Continuing Professional Development (CPD) compliance.
