CTE Renewed as CPD Provider: Growing Educators Beyond the Classroom
The College of Teacher Education (CTE) of the Adventist University of the Philippines (AUP) has renewed its accreditation as a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provider, expanding the College’s role in supporting educators beyond preparing future teacher.
The renewal was approved by the CPD Council of Professional Teachers of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) under application number OLD-2026-4613. CTE retains its CPD Accreditation No. PTR-2017-027, allowing the College to offer CPD earning seminars and related professional learning activities for teachers and education professionals.
Through its renewed accreditation, Dr. Jeremiah Fameronag, the CTE dean, stated that the College can develop seminars, workshops, short courses, and other professional learning programs responsive to the evolving needs of educators. “Proposed areas include innovative pedagogy, educational technology and artificial intelligence, assessment, inclusive education, educational leadership, research, communication, and internationalization,” he mentioned.
Dr. Fameronag, expressed the College’s plans to explore specialized certification and competency building programs, customized training for schools, and professional learning opportunities that draw on the expertise of its faculty, practitioners, researchers, and local and international partners.
The renewal strengthens CTE’s commitment to extending its educational mission beyond the classroom and contributing to the continuing development of the teaching profession. It provides an avenue for educators to strengthen their competencies, respond to emerging challenges in education, and pursue lifelong professional growth.
