Barangay Centro residents gathered at the Apartment C & D Lawn on April 26, for the “Centro Kids on the Go Bazaar & Food Fair.” 

Prior to the fair, the Brgy. Centro residents demonstrated a strong spirit of cooperation through a Bayanihan initiative. Volunteers worked together to prepare the grounds.

The fair featured a wide array of culinary offerings, including local street food favorites such as takoyaki, fish balls, kwek-kwek, and empanadas. Refreshments ranging from fruit shakes to halo-halo were available alongside traditional Filipino delicacies like maja blanca, biko, and palitaw.

Additionally, the bazaar offered ukay-ukay items, such as clothes, and bags, and various handmade artworks and bookmarks produced by the children. According to the organizers, a significant portion of the proceeds has been allocated to support the soon-to-rise AUP Medical Center teaching hospital project. Furthermore, the funds will bolster Brgy. Centro’s program to provide financial assistance to bereaved families during wakes held in the University campus and cover future barangay operational needs. The day concluded with a strong sense of community, as families and visitors participated in various activities, including face painting and socializing. The event served as a practical demonstration of how community-centered projects can foster professional skills in the younger generation while addressing immediate humanitarian and developmental needs.
