Attended by 117 alumni, the Adventist University of the Philippines-College of Theology (COT) celebrated its first alumni homecoming with the theme, “Symposium on Leadership and Spirituality,” on June 30-July 2, 2023, at the Finster Hall of Nations.

During the symposium breakout sessions held at the COT classrooms, Dr. Geoffrey Tio, Dr. Mel Baga, Dr. Ronald Yabut, and Mr. Bing Alabata, all COT alumni, served as resource speakers. In addition, the first officers of the AUP-COT Alumni Association, Philippine Chapter were elected to office on July 1. The elected COT Alumni Officers for 2023 are Pastor Restituto Bualoy, president; Atty. Chito Castillo, vice president; Dr. Maila Dizon, secretary; Pastor Jun Tayaben, treasurer; and Pastor Joel Sarmiento, Public Information officer. The ex-officio members are Pastor Lowel Domocmat, COT dean; Pastor Gerardo Cajobe, Northern Philippine Union Conference president; and Pastor Felixian Felicitas, Southern-Asia Pacific Division Mission Refocus director.

On the last day of the symposium, the College presented a certificate to Michael Jan Fuentes, grandson of Dr. Archibald Tupas, in recognition of the latter’s leadership. The gesture was done to honor the legacy of the late Dr. Tupas who served as professor and dean of the former School of Theology of the Philippine Union College. Dr. Jose Manalo, Sr., AWESNA president, concluded the event with his closing message.
