Daily Events Resound AUP’s 106th Founding Anniversary Theme
Advancing, Unwavering, Persevering, AUP’s theme for the 106th Founding Anniversary resounded from every event highlighted on campus on January 27 to February 1.
Bayanihan at dawn, sacred concert for vesper commence AUP’s 106th
Friday morning saw students, faculty, and staff persevering together to kick off dried leaves, broken tree branches, and rubbish in an orchestrated campus-wide clean-up drive a.k.a. “bayanihan” or campus community day. The evening program featured a dozen choirs on campus in a sacred music festival at PIC of unwavering Godly praise, coordinated by the music department, headed by Sheryl Ann Botabara, Music Department chair.
Alumni, guests, and musicians lead Sabbath Services
Sabbath celebration featured outreach and missionary reports of “Orior” class of 1993 both in the national and international scenes for Sabbath School headed by class president Liberty Olive Bautista Macias. The Honorable Harlin Abayon exemplified in his message Joseph whose life embodied the theme in the Divine Hour of Worship coordinated by Pastor Lani Esteves PIC Senior Pastor. Lunch potluck at the Gym was led by barangays Dahilig and Tabing Ilog. Also the mass choir and the PIC orchestra unwavering in their music blended once again after being silenced by the pandemic for three years. Chosen, alumni, administrators, faculty, and students reminisced God’s goodness to AUP for many years during AY led by the Campus Youth Ministries.
Sports, food fair persevere activities through weeklong affair
Residents of AUP Dormitory Circle (ADC) paraded around the campus to open the sports festival, and international food fair coordinated by the Central Student Council, the ADC, and the Student Services Office headed by Dr. Julio Amurao, VP for Student Services. The group and parlor games as well as team and ballgames, food sale continued unwavering from Sunday through Wednesday.
IFVL seminar advances mentors as PMS concert raises funds
Advancing academically on Monday was the whole day training on integration of faith, values and learning for the academic team headed by Dr. Gracel Anne Saban, VP for Academics. In the evening, a thanksgiving and fundraising concert-banquet for the CAH building in progress held in the COM building featured the celebrated Philippine Meister Singers (PMS) conducted by Ramon Lijauco Jr., and guest benefactors unwavering in their commitment for AUP’s cause.
Exhibits, researches entertain scholars
Persevering with the celebration on Tuesday the Research Office led by Dr. Jolly Balila, research director and the Detwiler Library headed by Dr. Michelle Carbonilla, chief librarian presented DOST researches and Creation Center exhibits open to the public.
Dr. Arceli Rosario expounds University State of the Nation Address
Advancing still on the last day Dr. Arceli H. Rosario, AUP President gave what many faculty members termed as “a very empowering” State of the University Address. In the center of all the pomp and pageantry of national flags, chorale hymns and orchestra music, processional of AUP workers in nationalistic Filipiniana attire, felicitations of CHEd and Silang high ranking officials (can’t remember names please supply), and scores of service awardees honored by the HRM office headed by Dr. Lolina Mostaza, Hrm director, God’s name remained glorified.
Ribbon cutting ceremony, career expo culmibate festivities
The celebration concluded with the ribbon cutting of the Food Factory facility and the Rotunda road as a career expo welcomed students from other schools at the University Gym and in the open house by colleges the rest of the day. At the helm of the week long celebration was the Advancement Office headed by Oemer Daquila Advancement Director. The weeklong Founding Anniversary Celebration has ended but with God the Academic Excellence, Christ like Character and Exemplary Service of Adventist University of the Philippines continue Advancing, Unwavering, and Persevering at 106 and beyond.
