Position: Kindergarten Teacher
Department: AUPE
Employment Status: Full-time
Are you passionate about nurturing young children and helping them grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually? The Adventist University of the Philippines Elementary Department is looking for a caring, creative, and dedicated kindergarten teacher who can provide a safe and engaging learning environment for young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans, prepares, and delivers developmentally appropriate and engaging learning activities for kindergarten pupils.
- Fosters a warm, nurturing, and Christ-centered classroom environment that supports the holistic development of children.
- Promotes foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, communication, creativity, and social interaction.
- Monitors and assesses student progress and provides regular feedback to parents and guardians.
- Collaborates with fellow teachers, parents, and school administrators to support student learning and well-being.
- Upholds the mission, vision, and values of the Adventist University of the Philippines.
Competencies Required:
Early Childhood Education and Instruction
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and the K–12 curriculum for kindergarten.
- Applies age-appropriate, child-centered, and play-based teaching strategies.
- Integrates biblical values and character-building activities into classroom instruction.
Classroom Management
- Establishes positive routines and classroom procedures appropriate for young children.
- Creates a safe, caring, respectful, and engaging classroom environment.
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and effective behavior guidance strategies.
Assessment and Child Development
- Uses appropriate assessment tools to monitor children’s developmental and academic progress.
- Identifies learners’ needs and provides timely support and intervention when necessary.
- Communicates student progress effectively with parents and guardians.
Communication and Collaboration
- Maintains positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Works collaboratively with the school community to support student development and school activities.
Technology Integration
- Utilizes educational technology and multimedia tools appropriate for young learners.
- Supports responsible and guided use of technology in the classroom.
Qualifications:
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required)
✔ Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required)
✔ Valid PRC Teaching License (required)
✔ Experience in teaching kindergarten or early childhood learners is an advantage
✔ PhD degree (preferred)
