AUP formally welcomed a distinguished panel of international <\/span>accreditors for the Adventist Accrediting Association (AAA) <\/span>interim visit on November 27\u2013December 1, 2025. The accreditation team\u2014composed of educational leaders, administrators, and academic specialists from various divisions of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, arrived on campus to conduct a comprehensive review of the University\u2019s academic programs, spiritual culture, and the effectiveness of its institutional mission.<\/span><\/p>\n The accrediting team included the following:<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022 Richard Sabuin, PhD: associate education director of the General Conference<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022 Mary Jane Zabat, PhD: education director of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD)<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022 Leroy Ruhupatty, PhD: SSD associate education director<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022 Bienvenido Mergal, PhD: former SSD education director<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022 Canadian Panjaitan, PhD: former SSD associate education director<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022 Faye Petterson, PhD: education director of the Inter-American <\/span>Division<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022 Malcom Coulson, vice chancellor of Avondale University<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022 Ronny Walaen, PhD, vice president for academic affairs, UNKLAB<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022 Dr. Everton Padilha Gomes, PhD, faculty of the School of Medicine UNASP Brazil<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022 Agnes Ravalo, education director of Southern Luzon Philippine <\/span>Union Mission<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022 Megumi Flores, library director of Adventist International Institute <\/span>of Advanced Studies<\/span><\/p>\n Throughout the 5-day visit, accreditors met with administrators, <\/span>faculty, students, and staff; observed classes; reviewed documents; and evaluated how AUP continue to shine on and train students for service and prepare them for eternity.<\/span><\/p>\n On December 1, the University received encouraging results from <\/span>the accreditation exit report presented by Dr. Richard Sabuin and <\/span>area evaluators, affirming the University\u2019s steady progress, strengthened operations, and continued commitment to its mission.<\/span><\/p>\n Dr. Sabuin reported that out of 60 recommendations, 48 have been fully fulfilled, while 12 are partially fulfilled, meaning 100% of the recommendations have been addressed and 80% completed. The evaluation team commended AUP for its responsiveness, faith-driven leadership, and systematic improvement across the 12 key areas. Dr. Mary Jane Zabat expressed deep appreciation for AUP\u2019s excellent hospitality, well-prepared exhibits, smooth logistics, and meaningful interactions with students, faculty, and staff.<\/span><\/p>\n Dr. Arceli Rosario, AUP president, thanked the team for recognizing God\u2019s leading in AUP\u2019s progress. She highlighted the University\u2019s major undertakings\u2014including the ongoing construction of the teaching hospital, expected to be completed within 3 and a half years, and the continued expansion of facilities for the College of Nursing and College of Dentistry.<\/span><\/p>\n In her closing words, Dr. Rosario offered a message of faith and <\/span>encouragement to the University team. \u201cHave faith in your heart thatwhat is in your hands is not in your hands alone but in God\u2019s hands.
