This change was announced on February 28, 2025, and further detailed with the release of the University-wide academic calendar on May 8, 2025. The new Academic Year (AY) 2025\u20132026 will start on June 23, 2025, and will apply to all educational levels: elementary, secondary, and tertiary except the AUP College of Medicine.<\/p>\n This transition aligned with the Department of Education’s (DepEd) nationwide directive to reinstate the June\u2013March school year, as formalized in Department Order No. 012, s. 2025. While this directive primarily affected public schools, private institutions like AUP had the option to adopt this change under the School Calendar Law (Republic Act No. 7797).<\/p>\n The decision was a timely response to public concerns regarding the health and safety risks associated with rising temperatures during the dry season.
