The Adventist University of the Philippines held its first face-to-face Academic Emphasis Program on September 9, 2022 at the Philippine International Church(PIC), after two years of celebrating the occasion virtually. New students in color-coded masks from the nine colleges, and the faculty and staff in bright multi-colored\u00a0 academic regalia marched to the majestic music, amidst cheers and applauses of the student body suggesting an atmosphere of excitement. The Academic Emphasis Day is a major program of the university held during the first semester of each academic year where new and returning students are officially welcomed to the university and the faculty and staff are formally\u00a0 introduced. It is also a consecration and dedication service as students start again their academic journey.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The event’s goal, as stated by Dr. Gracel Ann Saban, vice president of academics, during her welcome speech is to let everyone WIN, which stands for Welcoming returning students, Introducing members of the University’s academic team, and Nurturing the commitment to holistic excellence as students are prepared for Christ-like service and eternity.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Dr. Ginger Ketting-Weller, president of AIIAS, graced the occasion with her message about \u201cThe Luxury of Integrity\u201d. She challenged everyone to do things honorably and give their very best in everything, to the help others. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Deans and directors presented their new students and introduce the members of their team.
