The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the examination results on October 19, 2026, after administering the Chemist Licensure Examination on October 13 and 14. Nationally, 914 of the 1,197 examinees passed the Chemist Licensure Examination, while 3,250 of the 3,742 examinees passed the Chemical Technician Licensure Examination. <\/p>\n

For Janna Plata, one of the successful examinees, the examination experience brought both confidence and uncertainty. She recalled feeling prepared on the first day, recognizing many of the questions and leaving the examination room encouraged by her performance. The second day, however, challenged her confidence as she encountered difficult questions and began second-guessing some of her answers. <\/p>\n
Plata also credited AUP for helping her prepare for the licensure examination, particularly through an experience that initially felt like a setback. After failing the mock board examinations, she had to postpone taking the actual examination. \u201cThat delay turned out to be a blessing,\u201d she said; it gave her time to review the topics she wasn’t confident in. \u201cBy the time I took the board exam, I was more ready and more confident than I would have been if I had rushed. I’m grateful AUP held me to that standard.\u201d <\/p>\n
Beyond academic preparation, Plata identified prayer as an important part of her journey. \u201cFor me, prayer has always worked, not just in the board exam but in my whole life. Whenever I felt tired or doubted myself during review, I prayed, and somehow found the strength to keep going. Even when I failed the mock boards, I believed God had a better timing for me, and He did. Passing the board exam answered a prayer I’ve carried for a long time. I didn’t get here on my own,\u201d she expressed. <\/p>\n
The university celebrated the achievement as a testament to the examinees\u2019 perseverance, academic preparation, and trust in God throughout their journey toward professional practice. In a message from the Office of the President, AUP expressed gratitude to God, whom it recognized as the source of the university\u2019s success, while congratulating the new chemists and chemical technicians on their accomplishment. <\/p>\n
Dr. Arceli Rosario, the AUP president, also acknowledged the parents, families, sponsors, friends, and mentors who supported the examinees throughout their preparation. It encouraged the new professionals to use their knowledge and skills to serve others and reflect God\u2019s character in their respective fields. \u201cAs you step forward, use the knowledge you have honed as instruments of grace to ease human suffering, bring tangible hope to a weary world, and reveal the loving character of God through your work.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cThe road to becoming a licensed chemist is not an easy one,\u201d Myrnille Joy Galang, Chemistry Department chair, said. \u201cThere will be challenges and delays. But in the laboratory, a failed experiment is never a dead end\u2014it is an invitation to troubleshoot, analyze, and uncover a better solution. These trials refine us, transforming setbacks into learning opportunities and instilling the resilient character a true chemist needs. Through it all, we cling to God\u2019s promise in 2 Corinthians 12:9: \u2018My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.\u2019” The Chemistry Department hopes to inspire the next generation of chemists to pursue science with passion, tackle complex problems with confidence, become a catalyst for positive change, and honor God through their work.
